Outstanding application to academic studies is recognised throughout the year at Parade College. There are two different forms of academic application that are recognised: outstanding achievement and outstanding progress. Apart from the feedback students receive from their teachers on individual tasks, teachers also nominate students for monthly awards and overall semester awards for Outstanding Academic Achievement and Outstanding Academic Progress.
Outstanding Academic Achievement
This award recognises student achievement of academic excellence in studies. The student who receives this award will have the highest overall results / performance across all assessed tasks completed during the semester for the study. This student completes all their set work to a high standard.
Outstanding Academic Progress
This award recognises student contribution to the progress of their learning in the classroom. The student who receives this award completes all set work to the best of their ability and demonstrates a positive attitude. They are an active participant in class and consistently strive to improve their standard of work, regardless of their level of ability. This student shows initiative with their approach to work.
Perpetual trophies and AWARDS
Presented for a unique and sustained contribution to the ethos and spirit of the College across a range of significant fields of endeavour.
Br Treacy Cup
Awarded for exemplary leadership in the College. It is endorsed by the Old Paradians’ Association in honour of the founding headmaster of Parade College in 1871.
G.D. Malouf Cup
Named after an Old Paradian and generous benefactor to the College. It is given for all-round excellence in academic and other areas of College life.
Alban Pisani Trophy
Named after Old Paradian and the first co-ordinator of the Middle School, in appreciation of his dedicated service, the Alban Pisani Trophy is given for outstanding contribution to school spirit.
Br J.L. Kelty Cup
Donated by Fr Dan Daly in honour of Br Justin Linus Kelty, a former Providence Leader of St Patrick’s Province, and the first Australian Congregation Leader of the Christian Brothers. It is given for leadership at the senior level of the College.
Edmund Rice Shield
This is endowed by Edmund Rice Education Australia and is presented to the senior student who has made an exemplary contribution to the advancement of a particular aspect of College life.
Old Collegians’ Award
Presented for outstanding contribution to community action and involvement in social justice activities.
Anthony Clarkson Shield
Awarded to honour the memory of Mr Anthony Clarkson, a former student and teacher at Parade College. It is given to the year 12 student who has shown outstanding participation and leadership in a variety of sports through his school life.
This shield is awarded for outstanding involvement in promoting the principles of Edmund Rice Education
