LOU ARTHUR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Parade College scholarships have been established to acknowledge and foster the development of our students with special talents and to encourage their contributions within the school and wider community. As well as being highly competitive, our academic scholarship is also an opportunity to recognise those students in our community who posses an outstanding academic record whilst also contributing actively to many facets of College life.

Lou Arthur, 1905-1972, was a student of Parade College until 1922, where he was actively engaged in many facets of College Life, including his instrumental role in the formation of the Old Paradians Amateur Football Club. As an alumnus, Lou was a dedicated and long-term Secretary and President of the Old Paradians Association (OPA). In October 2010, Lou was inducted into the Old Paradians Hall of Fame.

The Lou Arthur Memorial Scholarship honours the enduring commitment of Lou Arthur to Parade College and recognises those students that share his values of high academic achievement and contribution to College life.

The Lou Arthur Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Year 8 students who will complete Year 9 and Year 10 at Parade College.
