Welcome back to 2025 in the Parade College Music Department! We are excited to start another fantastic year of music-making, filled with thrilling performances and opportunities for your child’s musical growth.
Instrumental music enrolments for 2025 are open until Friday 14 February. Students from all year levels are encouraged to join. The College offers tuition on a variety of instruments, including guitar, piano, bass guitar, drums, vocals, woodwind, and brass, available in both individual and small group settings. Learning an instrument is an excellent way for students to engage in College life, make new friends, and enjoy the mental and social benefits from engaging with music.

A reminder to all families currently enrolled in the Instrumental Music Program that there is no need to re-enrol your child in instrumental music lessons for 2025. As per the instrumental music enrolment conditions stipulated in the Instrumental Music Handbook, enrolment lasts for the duration of your child's time at the College.
Should you wish to discontinue lessons this year, a formal request for withdrawal must be submitted in writing to the Director of Music at music@parade.vic.edu.au at least eight weeks prior.

We are pleased to announce that Instrumental Music Tuition Scholarships will be offered again in 2025 to support and inspire talented young musicians. These scholarships aim to nurture a love of music and will be awarded to candidates demonstrating outstanding musical ability and potential.

Mark your calendars for Sunday 23 February 2025, as Parade College hosts its annual Open Day. The Music Department will feature prominently, with various ensembles performing throughout the day.
Students scheduled to perform will receive performance details via email. Families should check the schedule carefully, and students are encouraged to confirm their attendance and performance details with their Ensemble Director or Instrumental Teacher.
Year 7 families are warmly invited to the 2025 Music Recruitment Evening on Thursday 13 February from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the Performing Arts Centre. This is a great opportunity to learn about the Music Department’s programs, events, and instrumental offerings while meeting the music staff.
Rehearsals for the Parade and Santa Maria College’s co-production of The Wedding Singer will commence on Monday 3 February. Rehearsal schedules have been emailed to cast members and their families.
Year 7 students interested in joining the cast can find audition details in the next newsletter edition. This is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with peers across year levels and Santa Maria College. For inquiries, email productions@parade.vic.edu.au.
Parade College is proud to offer such a diverse and extensive range of ensembles for our students to participate and excel in. Students enrolled in instrumental music lessons can find their allocated ensemble on the noticeboard in the Music Department and the relevant Ensemble MS Teams page. Students who are not enrolled in the program but play an instrument are also welcome to join an ensemble.
